In a renewed effort to cultivate patriotism and national reorientation, the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) has forged a partnership with Love To The World Initiative, a non-governmental organisation dedicated to promoting positive social values and fostering attitudinal change among Nigerians.
A delegation from Love To The World Initiative, led by Josephine Abraham, recently visited the Director-General of NTA, Mr Salihu Abdulhamid Dembos, at the Authority’s headquarters in Abuja. The purpose of this visit was to explore collaboration with the national broadcaster to amplify narratives of hope, unity, and patriotism through NTA’s extensive platforms.
During the visit, Josephine Abraham commended NTA for its consistent efforts in promoting national unity and positively representing Nigeria on the global stage. She highlighted that the team was there to honour the Director-General for his “tireless efforts and unwavering commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s unity and moral values.”
“We wish to partner with NTA to bring some of our Human Angel Stories to prime-time television,” Abraham stated. “Our aim is to utilise this platform to effect positive change within the country, reminding Nigerians that real transformation begins with each of us. Attitudinal change is what Nigeria truly needs at this moment.”
She further emphasised that their new campaign will focus on engaging directly with the populace rather than the government, asserting that “the people are the government.” She remarked, “If we do not reach the grassroots, achieving sustainable change will prove challenging.”
Ambassador Dr Anthonia Ekpa, a key advocate of the initiative, expressed her profound affection for the country and praised NTA for its enduring service to the nation. “NTA is an excellent organisation, and we are delighted to be partnering with such a patriotic institution,” she remarked. “I love Nigeria with all my heart. I have travelled extensively and seen that Nigerians are united. We aim to change the narrative and remind everyone that Nigeria is a remarkable nation worth believing in.”
She urged all citizens to embody the values that NTA represents and to contribute positively towards national development.
Prince Prosper Akeni, a renowned artist and member of the delegation, also praised NTA’s contributions to nation-building, encouraging the organisation to continue its commendable efforts in shaping the country’s image through responsible broadcasting.
Representing the Director-General, Mrs Kemi Fakeye, General Manager of NTA Channel 5, expressed gratitude to the delegation for their recognition and reiterated NTA’s commitment to promoting peace, progress, and good values.
“Our Director-General is a patriot at heart,” Fakeye stated. “The entire NTA family shares his vision of building a better Nigeria. We have risen through the ranks, upholding strong values and professionalism. The Director-General and management are proud of the staff who continue to uphold the good image of the country.”
She encouraged Nigerians to support initiatives that foster unity and diligence, noting that the new project by Love To The World Initiative aligns seamlessly with NTA’s mission of positive national transformation.
The partnership between NTA and Love To The World Initiative is poised to launch a nationwide campaign centred around Attitudinal Change, focusing on peace, progress, and civic responsibility. This campaign aims to inspire Nigerians to rediscover their shared identity, rebuild trust, and reignite the spirit of patriotism across all segments of society.
