The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Jigawa State Command, has officially received its newly posted State Commandant, Muhammad Kabiru Ingawa, the 16th to hold the position.
The announcement was contained in a statement signed by the Command’s spokesperson, ASC Badruddeen Tijjani Mahmud, and issued on Monday.
A native of Ingawa in Katsina State, Commandant Ingawa brings extensive professional experience, having served in several state commands, including Katsina, Jigawa, Delta, Kaduna, and Nasarawa. Until his recent redeployment, he was the State Commandant in Nasarawa.
Ingawa is no stranger to Jigawa, where he previously served in various capacities before moving to Kaduna, giving him deep familiarity with the state’s security landscape.
He holds a degree in Business Administration from Bayero University, Kano, and is an associate member of the Corporate Institute of Administration. Over the years, he has attended multiple seminars and workshops both in Nigeria and abroad, enhancing his expertise in administration and security management.
Commandant Ingawa began his professional training at the Correctional Service Training School, Owerri, Imo State, and later advanced at the Nigerian Correctional Staff College, Kaduna. Among his commendations is the “Most Punctual Staff Award,” which he received in Jigawa in 2013.
His redeployment is expected to further boost the command’s efforts in safeguarding critical national assets, managing crises, and ensuring internal security in Jigawa State.
Commandant Ingawa takes over from Bala Bawa Bodinga, who has been redeployed to Kano State following the retirement of its former Commandant.
