The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has reopened its online ticketing platform for the Abuja–Kaduna Train Service, ahead of the resumption of operations on October 1.
In a statement on Tuesday, NRC’s Chief Public Relations Officer, Callistus Unyimadu, said passengers can now book tickets online via https://nrc.tps.ng or at designated train stations.
He explained that journey times have been reduced following a review of the Temporary Speed Restriction (TSR) to improve efficiency.
The new schedule shows departures from Abuja’s Idu station at 8:45 a.m., Kubwa at 9:10 a.m., arriving Rigasa, Kaduna, at 11:47 a.m. The return leg departs Rigasa at 2:30 p.m., stops at Kubwa at 5:12 p.m., and arrives Idu at 5:32 p.m.
Unyimadu noted that the resumption follows comprehensive safety, technical, and operational checks carried out after services were suspended when a passenger train derailed on August 26.
He thanked passengers for their patience during the suspension, adding that safety, comfort, and customer satisfaction remain the corporation’s priorities.
