A Nollywood legend, Binta Ayo-Mogaji and Dr. Azeezat Abiola-Amusat , founder of Abiola Beauty Concept, are among 15 Africans and Americans honoured with the prestigious Afro Awards 2025 for their humanitarian services.
The AFRO awards, scheduled for Oct. 25 in Los Angeles, California, is an annual and non profit event being powered by Oduala Foundation to honour outstanding individuals and organizations for their significant contributions to humanity in various fields.
Chief Taiwo Oduala, Executive Director and Founder of AFRO awards, in a statement on Thursday, described the annual event as a “unique Afro-centric excellence award” on individuals and organisations that had touched lives in their communities.
Oduala said that the 2025 AFRO Awards, which is the 4th edition, promises an evening of elegance, culture, and purpose, complete with surprise performances and impactful storytelling that bridges communities
“The event continues its mission to empower people from all walks of life, educate, and enable young people to act as catalysts for change, inspiring global career success and cultural unity.

“Ayo-Mogaji, an icon of African cinema whose work has inspired generations across the globe, bagged Nollywood Legend Award, which made her a pride not only to Nigeria but Africa as a whole.”
He said that Abiola-Amusat, a creative force preserving and elevating the beauty of African heritage, is to receive the African Culture & Beauty Stylist Award.
The U.S.-based film director enumerated other honourees to include Luenell, the legendary comedian whose fearless humor and authentic voice have made her a cultural treasure.(Diamond Mic Award)
Others are Jarred Vanderbilt – Community Impact Award NBA star celebrated for his commitment to empowering youth and strengthening communities.
Carl Jones & TJ Walker (Co-Founders of Cross Colours) – Culture Without Prejudice Award
Visionaries who used fashion as a powerful voice to unite, uplift, and inspire cultural pride.
Faizon Love – Culture & Comedy Impact Award
A comedic force whose boldness and talent have shaped the landscape of entertainment, among others.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN] reports that some Nigerians honoured in the past include, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, the Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), of Air Peace, Dr Allen Onyema, late Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Dr Moshood Olalekan-Balogun.
