According to an Iran International English report of Sunday 1 of March 2026, the United States’ (US) President, Donald Trump, has provided new details on the ongoing American and Israeli military campaign in the Islamic Republic, describing the operation as “moving along rapidly” and claiming significant leadership losses within the Iranian government.
In an interview with Fox News, Trump said, “Nobody can believe the success we’re having. Forty-eight leaders are gone in one shot. And it’s moving along rapidly.” The remarks came amid heightened tensions in the region, following a series of co-ordinated strikes targeting Iranian command centers and military facilities.
Trump also addressed concerns over the potential effects of the conflict on global oil markets. “I’m not concerned about anything. At the end, it works out,” he told reporters, signalling confidence in the resilience of the international economy, despite escalating tensions in the Middle East.
In addition to the military operations, the president confirmed diplomatic engagement with Tehran. In an interview with The Atlantic, Trump said, “They want to talk, and I have agreed to talk. So, I will be talking to them. They should have done it sooner.” The statement suggests that Iran’s new leadership may be seeking negotiations after recent escalations.
Trump also highlighted the broader strategic goals of the US campaign in the region. Speaking to CNBC, he emphasized, “We’re doing our job not just for us but for the world. And everything is ahead of schedule.” The president framed the strikes as part of a global security effort, rather than a purely regional action, underpinning the US administration’s narrative of international responsibility.
The military operations follow weeks of rising tensions between Washington and Tehran, with both nations signalling readiness to escalate. US officials have stated that the strikes targeted senior Iranian officials involved in the country’s military and intelligence apparatus. Analysts caution that, while the elimination of multiple leaders could disrupt Iranian command structures, the long-term impact on regional stability remains uncertain.See_More…
