NOA urge trainees to cascade leadership, national values knowledge

By Blessing Odega

The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has urged participants of its three-day capacity-building workshop to cascade knowledge gained on leadership, citizenship, and national values within their various workplaces.

The Director-General (D-G) of the NOA, Mr Lanre Issa-Onilu, said this on Thursday in Jos, at the end of its three-day capacity training on leadership and national values, organised in partnership with Tomruk iHub Multiverse and Dakrisbenic Foundation for Unity and Development in Africa (DAFUDA).

Issa-Onilu, who was represented by Mr David Akoji, NOA’s Director of Special Duties and State Operations, said the aim of the training transcended the training of participants.

The D-G stated that it was meant to create a ripple effect that would strengthen leadership and national consciousness, promote responsible citizenship and encourage positive behavioural change across the country.

He urged the participants to serve as ambassadors of good governance and ethical conduct by sharing the knowledge they had gained with colleagues.

According to him, the training covered topics such as transformational leadership, civic responsibilities, patriotism, conflict resolution, and the importance of upholding Nigeria’s core values.

He stressed that for national development to be sustained, citizens must take ownership of values that promote unity, accountability, and respect for the rule of law.

Mrs Zainab Abubakar, one of the participants who spoke with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), commended the NOA for the initiative.

Abubakar said that the training was timely and impactful and promised to cascade the knowledge gained not only to her colleagues but to all persons she encounters.

NAN reports that the training commenced on Dec 2, with participants from various Federal Government ministries, departments and agencies and the military. (NAN) (http://www.nannews.ng)
