“No peace in polygamy” – Erigga tells men chasing many wives

Popular rapper, Erigga has shared his thoughts on polygamy, saying the practice brings nothing but pain to women and children.

Speaking in an interview with Yanga FM Lagos, the Warri-born rapper opened up about his childhood experience growing up in a polygamous home. He revealed that the lifestyle shaped his decision to avoid polygamy completely.

According to Erigga, polygamy may look glamorous from the outside, but deep down, it breeds hurt, jealousy, and silent competition among wives and children.

“I am trying not to be like my father. I don’t like polygamy; one person always gets hurt, which is the woman. There’s never a polygamous situation where the man gets hurt; it’s always the woman and the kids, he said”

Erigga said he believes monogamy offers more peace and stability, explaining that managing multiple wives and divided emotions often leads to chaos and resentment.

The rapper encouraged men to embrace simplicity by sticking to one woman, noting that real peace in a home comes from mutual love and understanding, not from having many wives.

Whether you agree with him or not, Erigga’s words shed light on a hard truth — in many cases, polygamy brings more pain than peace.
