Nigerian social commentator Geh Geh has criticised singer Burna Boy over his recent car purchase, questioning the decision to spend a large amount of money on a luxury vehicle amid economic hardship in the country.
In a video, Geh Geh called on Burna Boy to sell the vehicle for scrap, describing the purchase as a financial mistake.
“Burna Boy, that your car wey you buy eh, call Aboki iron condemn make them come carry that financial mistake wey you buy from your compound. It’s a shame. I no believe when I see that video.”
Geh Geh gave the singer 24 hours to dispose of the vehicle, arguing that such an expensive purchase offers little benefit to ordinary Nigerians.
“Call Aboki now. I’m giving 24 hours. That car you buy, what benefit is it to me as a Nigerian?”
He questioned why Burna Boy would spend what he described as billions of naira on a vehicle when many Nigerians are struggling with basic infrastructure and poor road conditions.
“You carry billions of Naira go buy car wey no get use to you and the country you come from.”
Geh Geh further argued that wealthy Nigerians should pay greater attention to the conditions in the country, particularly when spending heavily on luxury items.
“You don go buy car where the road to drive am? Nigerians are hungry and you are buying a car.”
His comments reflect his personal criticism of Burna Boy’s purchase and his broader argument that wealthy Nigerians should consider the country’s economic and infrastructural challenges when making major luxury purchases.
