Nigerian Polytechnic Rector uncovers fake results syndicate, suspends 5 staff

The Rector of Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, Professor Salisu Ogbo Usman, has exposed a major fake results syndicate operating within the institution. This discovery has led to the suspension of five staff members, including a Deputy Registrar.

During a press briefing in Lokoja on Wednesday evening, Professor Ogbo described the situation as “a serious threat to the integrity and reputation” of the Polytechnic.

Syndicate Involved in Forged ND and HND Results

According to him, a detailed investigation by the Polytechnic’s Admission, ICT, and Security Units uncovered a network of individuals — including students, non-students, and staff — involved in forging National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) results for personal benefit.

The Rector revealed that while five staff members had been suspended, some suspects, including one Mr. Dominic Egwuda, were still on the run.

“Integrity of Kogi Poly Will Not Be Compromised”

“We will not allow anyone to destroy the integrity of Kogi State Polytechnic,” Prof. Ogbo stated. “All those involved will face appropriate disciplinary measures and prosecution.”

He reiterated his administration’s zero-tolerance policy for academic fraud, assuring that the Polytechnic’s quality assurance and security systems remain strong.

Commitment to Transparency

Professor Ogbo further emphasised that the management is determined to maintain the institution’s credibility and rebuild public trust.

“Our commitment to transparency, accountability, and integrity is unwavering. We will continue to sanitise the system and ensure that only hard work is rewarded,” he added.
