Tragedy strikes as Nigerian gay man, Hilary passes away after being subjected to a brutal homophobic attack in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
The announcement of his death was made by Jide Macaulay via an Instagram post.
Details Of The Post
According to Jide Macaulay’s post, Hilary was lured into a meeting under false pretenses, beaten, and thrown from a two-story building.
However, he succumbed to the injuries to his spinal cord and the violent cruelty inflicted upon him.
Additionally, the post paid tribute to Hilary, noting that his memory lives on, and his death marks the second kito-related death in Nigeria.

Our hearts are heavy once again. Another queer life has been taken from us far too soon. Hilary was deceived, lured into a meeting under false pretense and subjected to a brutal homophobic attack in Port Harcourt.
He was beaten and thrown from a two- storey building. Hilary fought for his life, but yesterday, he scummbed to the injuries to his spinal cord and the violent cruelity inflicted on him.
We are grieving deeply. This is the second reported kito-related death in just two weeks in Nigeria. Two beautiful souls gone because of hate, fear, and the failure of our society to protect it’s own.
