Nigeria @65: Akpabio Says Worst Is Over

Godswill Akpabio

President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, has called on Nigerians to remain patient with the ongoing reforms of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, assuring that the difficult phase is gradually giving way to positive results.

In a personally signed statement to mark Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary, Akpabio congratulated citizens for their resilience, unity, and commitment to the nation despite the challenges of the past two years.

“At 65, we are a mature nation, and it is time to work for unity and prosperity,” the Senate President said. “We salute your resilience, patience, and endurance. The pains of the reforms are temporary, and very soon they will be a thing of the past as the benefits are beginning to manifest positively.”

Akpabio urged Nigerians not to succumb to pessimism, stressing that the country is on the “right pedestal” and that the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu is reshaping Nigeria for long-term growth and development.

“I must tell you that Nigeria is not finished. Do not buy into the mischievous narrative that Nigeria is irredeemable. We are growing and making progress, and if we all join hands to support the reforms, Nigeria will surely reach the promised land,” he noted.

He also congratulated President Tinubu for his commitment to peace and development, while commending members of the National Assembly, the judiciary, and Nigerians at home and abroad for their roles in building the nation.

On behalf of his family, constituents, and the 10th National Assembly, Akpabio wished Nigerians a peaceful and joyous Independence celebration.
