Nicki Minaj‘s trolls have built thrones in her comments and are raining down the heat!
The “Super Bass” rapper introduced an update in the way she connects with her biggest fans online. Announcing her subscription-based access to exclusive posts on her X account just opened Pandora’s box of backlash for the musician.
Nicki Minaj has a lot going for her this year and has rolled into the negative light of the media. Earlier this year, the singer was faced with almost losing her $20 million California mansion to settle a legal dispute.
The popular rapper, in a post shared on X on Saturday, August 1, told fans about a new way for her fans to gain exclusive access to some of her content. She described the feature to her followers, which now allows them to pay $10 per month to unlock her exclusive posts.
“I finally did it. You can now subscribe to my X account,” she wrote in the caption attached to an AI-generated image of a Chucky doll in a pink wig. The rapper went on to give the details of what kind of space the exclusive pages would be.
“It’s for ppl who wanna have fun, think deeper, grow, learn, laugh, cry, cuss ppl out, look cute sometimes, be yourself at all times…” she wrote, adding “elevate, levitate, meditate.”
Minaj ended the post welcoming her fans aboard to enjoy the exclusive space and content. ... has gotten attention from several fans with reactions racking up into the tens of thousands.
Trolls Are Going Hard With The Backlash
Commenters wasted no time trolling Minaj in her paid X subscription post. “What happened to billionaire Barbie? Why are we begging for subscriptions on Twitter?” a netizen’s comment read, attached to a clip of someone laughing hysterically.
Another follower brought up her legal issues, writing, “Here she goes begging for money again so she can pay for her legal disputes.” At the same time, a different commenter stated that the move stemmed from a place of “desperation.”
One netizen took the time to dissect almost everything Minaj stated in her announcement post, slamming her and her fans in the process. “Fun? Nothing you say is fun. Laughable? Yes,” the user began.
“Think deeper? Your followers share 1 collective brain cell. Deep thought is impossible,” they added before noting that the only thing Minaj’s followers can grow is “a family tree in the shape of a wreath.”
A different commenter doubled down on the desperation claim, stating that the “Anaconda” singer was making a “desperate attempt to get some pennies in [her] already empty coin purse.” Other internet users asked about her music, with some stating that she should drop something new before they consider subscribing.
Nicki Minaj’s Paid Subscription Comes Amid Almost Losing Her House
Minaj almost had to say goodbye to her $20 million eight-bedroom home due to an assault case involving her husband, Kenneth Petty, and a former security guard. The case stemmed from an alleged incident that took place in 2019 and was brought to court in 2022.
Thomas Weidenmüller, the security guard, claimed that Petty physically assaulted him during her concert in Germany, causing him to undergo eight surgeries. Judge Cindy Pánuco ruled in favor of Weidenmüller and ordered that the “Super Bass” vocalist pay $503,000.
The Blast shared that since the court order, Minaj refused to pay the court-ordered amount, and different attempts by the plaintiff and his legal team to reach out to her came to naught.
The judge then ordered that if, by a certain date, the rapper still refused to pay the fine, she would have no other choice but to order the sale of her $20 million mansion in Hidden Hills to fund the award for Weidenmüller.
The Hip-Hop Artist Has Drawn A Line Between Herself And The Grammys
Minaj, as reported by The Blast, has not graced any auditorium for the Grammys since 2015 and has never won the award. Although she has been nominated for the prestigious award several times over the years, she has never walked away with the golden gramophone.
The singer previously blamed her losses on her “Roman Holiday” performance from 2012, which sparked major controversy as she was slammed for seemingly disrespecting the Catholic Church.
This year, Minaj took to social media, ranting about a satanic ritual. Without explicitly stating she was referring to the Grammys, the timing and content of her post gave it away.
“As they do their ritual tonight, God Almighty will reveal Himself to them. The ritual will backfire on them. God will not be mocked,” the entertainer noted in her X post, adding “Blessed is the MIGHTY NAME OF JESUS CHRIST. Every tongue that rises against me in judgment shall be condemned & put to shame.”
Nicki Minaj Has A Long-Standing Friend Turned Enemy In The Industry
It is no secret that Minaj and Cardi B have an ongoing heated rivalry that has spanned over a few years. Although they did not start on the wrong foot, things went sour with time, and the exact timeline has proved difficult to map out.
Fans have seen the two iconic rappers perform together, collaborate on projects, diss each other on social media, and even get into a physical altercation.
The Blast shared that Minaj admitted previously that Cardi had hurt her feelings after they worked together on “Motorsport” with Quavo. For some time, they steered clear of each other’s path and limited their feuds to competition within the industry until Cardi broke the chains in 2025.
Cardi mentioned Minaj’s son in one of her posts, where she threw shade at Papa Bear, calling him “nonverbal.” She also dissed Minaj, claiming that she went to several fertility specialists because her eggs were damaged from substance abuse. The “Anaconda” singer did not let it slide and came after Cardi’s daughter, Kulture, calling her “ugly,” “a roach,” and “a monkey.”
Does Nicki Minaj have some supporters in her corner amid the backlash?
