Nicki Minaj speaks out on Christian prosecution in Nigeria

U.S. rapper Nicki Minaj visited the United Nations headquarters on Tuesday, highlighting that Christians in Nigeria are “being targeted, forced from their homes, and killed,” and calling for stronger global efforts to safeguard religious minorities.

During her visit, Minaj met with U.S. Ambassador to the UN, Mike Waltz, for what she described as a detailed discussion on the Trump administration’s initiatives to promote religious freedom worldwide.

She expressed gratitude to President Donald Trump for “prioritizing this issue” and supporting actions aimed at protecting Nigerian Christian communities and countering extremist violence.

Minaj noted from her travels that faith profoundly influences cultures globally and cautioned that religion “is under attack in far too many places.”

In Nigeria, Christians are being targeted, driven from their homes, and killed,” she said. “Churches have been burned, families have been torn apart, and entire communities live in fear simply because of how they pray.”

The rapper emphasized that protecting the freedom to worship is not about choosing sides. “It is about bringing humanity together,” she said, adding that assaults on mosques, churches, or any place of worship should serve as a warning to the international community.

“When one’s church, mosque, or place of worship is destroyed, everyone’s heart should break just a little bit,” she said.
