New FRSC Sector Commander pledges to strengthen road safety operations in Delta

By Clara Egbogota

The new Sector Commander,  Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Delta Sector Command, said he would consolidate on existing achievements while strengthening road safety operations in the state.

Edem said this on Monday while addressing FRSC officers at the parade ground, FRSC Delta headquarters in Asaba.

“I want to have an open door administration, feel free to bring your contribution, feel free to ask me anything, my ears are open.

“We will reason together, we shall put all the ideas together and come out with the best workable solution.

“I am going to consolidate on whatever my predecessor has achieved in the past and make the FRSC flag fly higher in Delta state,”  he said.

He urged them not to see him as their teammates  but as their superior, saying that they would work around issues and ensure that they were resolved.

“We will work like teammates.

“I will be open with you if there are issues, which of course, nobody will deny that there are no issues because every command has its own peculiar issues.

“When we make mistakes, we should correct ourselves; you should do better, we are not going to kill anyone for making mistake but we should not make deliberate mistakes.

“With the little wisdom God has given us, we should be able to scrutinise the processes and performance of what matter; you have the work to do, but how you do the work matters,” he said.

He urged them to dress well, saying that when they dressed well, it would  boost confidence to interact with the public.

“We need to dress well and look good. That is one of the ways we can boost our self confidence to deal with the public.

“You are supposed to serve the public not to lord over them. We should listen to them, we need to be fair and friendly to the public.

“The uniform has already put us on the other side where sympathy goes to public and not you; so, you have to work deliberately to ensure that you win the public sympathy.

“What will make us to excel is the ability to work round the issues and get workable solutions,” he said.(NAN)(www.nannews com.ng)
