Nigerian man baffled as a compatriot tries to lure him into a fraudulent ‘picking’ scheme shortly after he arrived in US.
The man took to social media to share the conversation he had with his fellow countryman abroad.


According to him, soon after arriving the United States, fellow Nigerian had tried to introduce him to an online-money-making venture.
Nigerian lures him to fraud
He stated that the fellow Nigerian had made reference to such things about creating a US account that cash would be deposited into, after which they would share a ‘percentage’.
The man revealed that he had blocked the guy trying to introduce him to the fraudulent scheme.
Netizens caution him to stay clear of scammers
As a new arrival in the United States, some Nigerians have used the opportunity to offer him words of advice to stay away from people that could get him into trouble. One @JAdeliyi advised: “one of what my bro said the best thing to do is to disassociate yourself from people without value, scammers, emotional blackmailers and entitled individuals.
They make downfall come faster”
Another netizen, @Goblin_Gold counseled: “Welcome to America! First lesson: not everyone from home has your best interests at heart. That ‘picking’ scam is money laundering”
