Reality TV star Neo Akpofure has joined the ongoing debate on social media over whether men should kneel when proposing marriage to their partners.
The Big Brother Naija alum shared his opinion in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, addressing those who see the act as unnecessary or demeaning.

Kneeling is not begging
Neo stated that he would willingly kneel before the woman he intends to marry, describing her as his God-given helper and the one who would carry his future generations. He dismissed criticisms that portray kneeling as begging, saying he does not care how others interpret the gesture.
The reality star further argued that too many people are setting unrealistic standards in relationships today, creating confusion about genuine acts of love and respect.
According to him, kneeling should not be seen as a sign of weakness but rather as a demonstration of honor and commitment.
His comment comes amid heated exchanges online over a recent proposal-gone-wrong, where some have described kneeling as outdated or unnecessary, while others maintain it is a vital expression of humility during a proposal.
A lady had recently rejected a proposal after her man refused to go down on his knees to propose.
His words …
“I will gladly kneel before the woman I will ask to marry me! If it looks like begging to you, IDC! That’s my helper God gave me, the one who will bring forth my generations to come. Everyone just setting ridiculous standards these days y’all enjoy.”
