Nentawe Welcomes Support of Northern Minority Groups for President Tinubu

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yiltwada, has described as patriotic the decision of minority ethnic groups in Northern Nigeria to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.

‎Prof. Yiltwada conveyed this position in Abuja when he received leaders of the Northern Nigeria Minorities Group (NNMG), led by its Convener, Chief Jacob Edi, at the APC National Secretariat. He was represented by his Chief of Staff, Dr Mustapha Bala Dawaki.

‎He said the group’s independent endorsement of the President reflects appreciation for the administration’s efforts and its commitment to national development.

‎He noted that President Tinubu’s policies are aimed at improving the country and should be supported by citizens.

‎According to him, he had followed the activities of the group for some time and observed its contributions to promoting the administration.

‎“For the leaders and members of the group to have spared time and resources to promote the interest of the Tinubu-led APC administration and defend a right cause without prompting from any quarters shows that the group is patriotic and means well for Nigeria,” he said.

‎Earlier, Chief Edi said the NNMG was formed to support initiatives that improve the wellbeing of Nigerians. He said the group had taken note of the fairness demonstrated by the Tinubu administration in the allocation of projects and key appointments.

‎He listed some of the benefits received by minority ethnic groups in the North, including the establishment of the North Central Development Commission, the Federal University of Applied Sciences in Kachia, Kaduna State, support for the Nigeria College of Aviation Technology in Kwara State, several road projects, and what he described as presidential support for Prof. Nentawe’s emergence as APC national chairman.

‎Chief Edi said the NNMG represents more than 200 minority ethnic groups across the 19 northern states.

‎“We are ready to work day and night to ensure President Tinubu not only wins a second term but delivers a resounding unchallengeable victory that will silence doubters and consolidate progress,” he added.

‎At the end of the visit, the group presented a symbolic membership card and a letter requesting Prof. Yiltwada to serve as its patron.
