The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Kano Operations Office, in collaboration with the Kano State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), has distributed relief materials to victims of the recent fire incident at Sabuwar Lale Furniture Market in Gwale Federal Constituency, Kano State.
The Member representing the constituency, Garba Ibrahim Mohammed, who was represented at the event, commended NEMA for its prompt and consistent response, noting that the intervention was not the Agency’s first in the area this year. He described NEMA’s continued support as a strong demonstration of its humanitarian commitment.
Speaking during the distribution exercise, Asiya Bello, Principal Relief and Rehabilitation Officer, conveyed sympathy to the affected persons and urged traders and market stakeholders to adopt preventive measures to reduce the risk of future fire incidents.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the Market Association, speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, expressed appreciation to NEMA and the Federal Government for the timely intervention and support.
Relief items distributed included food supplies and building materials to assist the victims in addressing their immediate needs.(Source:NEMA, Facebook)
