NDLEA raids Lagos nightclub, arrests Pretty Mike and over 100 guests

The buzzing nightlife of Lagos took a dramatic turn in the early hours of Sunday when operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) raided Proxy Nightclub in Victoria Island, arresting Pretty Mike and others.

According to a statement released by NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi, the raid followed credible intelligence about certain suspicious activities happening inside the nightclub.

The operation, which took place around 3am, led to the arrest of over 100 guests, including the club’s owner, Mike Eze Nwalie Nwogu, popularly known as Pretty Mike.

Babafemi explained that NDLEA operatives had earlier infiltrated the party around 11pm on Saturday, observing the situation before making their move. During the operation, several prohibited substances were reportedly recovered from both the guests and the club’s storage area.

He added that all the individuals arrested were taken into custody for proper screening and that those found guilty will face prosecution as required by law.

This latest development has sparked reactions online, with many Nigerians expressing shock and surprise at the involvement of popular socialite, Pretty Mike.

The NDLEA has reiterated its commitment to keeping Lagos entertainment spots safe and in line with the law. Meanwhile, many club-goers are calling for more awareness on nightlife safety and lawful conduct.
