The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Adamawa State Command, has arrested a 30-year-old man, Samson Raymond, for alleged cultivation of Cannabis Sativa.
Raymond was arrested at his residence in Modire Community, Yolde Pate, Yola South Local Government Area, following credible intelligence, the Command said.
The operation was carried out by the Municipal Area Command of the NDLEA.
According to a statement by the Media Team of the Command, ASN Abner Yusha, operatives harvested fresh plants suspected to be cannabis from the suspect’s residence.
The team later proceeded to his farm located along the riverside in the same community, where additional fresh plants were also harvested.
In total, 28kg of fresh plants suspected to be Cannabis Sativa were seized during the operation.
The NDLEA Adamawa State Command reaffirmed its commitment to disrupting the cultivation and illicit trade of cannabis and protecting communities from the dangers of drug abuse.
