‎The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has sustained a relentless air interdiction campaign across the North-East and North-West, crippling terrorist networks and denying them safe havens through coordinated intelligence-led operations.

‎The air strikes, conducted between January 1 and 2, 2026, were executed under joint task force operations HADIN KAI and FASAN YAMMA Sector 2, targeting terrorist hideouts, movement routes and logistics corridors.

‎In a statement signed by the Director of Public Relations and Information, Nigerian Air Force, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the operations were based on actionable intelligence on terrorist intent, movement and supply chains.

‎“NAF air assets were decisively employed to strike identified hideouts, movement routes and assembly areas in order to deny terrorists freedom of movement and sanctuary,” Ejodame stated.

‎He disclosed that in the North-East, precision air strikes were carried out at Abirma and Chiralia within the Timbuktu Triangle, where terrorist facilities linked to IED production and attack planning were destroyed.

‎According to him, multiple secondary explosions were observed, indicating the destruction of explosive stockpiles and logistics assets.

‎Further interdiction missions were executed at Guva in the Mandara Mountains, degrading terrorists’ ability to regroup and resupply.

‎The NAF campaign was also extended to the North-West, where air strikes targeted terrorist convoys around Karaduwa Giginya Na in Matazu Local Government Area of Katsina State.

‎“Several terrorists were neutralised, multiple motorcycles destroyed and assorted weapons eliminated,” Ejodame said.

‎He assured Nigerians that the Air Force would continue sustained, precise and professional operations to support ground forces and protect civilians.
