The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has carried out coordinated airstrikes that destroyed terrorist enclaves in Katsina State and helped ground troops repel an ISWAP/Boko Haram attack on Chibok, Borno State.
The Director of Public Relations and Information, Headquarters Nigerian Air Force, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, disclosed this in a statement issued on Sunday.
According to Ejodame, NAF aircraft, under OPERATION FANSAN YAMMA, struck a fortified terrorist camp in Katsina at about 6:30 a.m. on November 27.
“The camp belonged to a notorious kingpin linked to kidnappings, violent attacks and livestock rustling across Kankara, Faskari and Malumfashi LGAs,” he said.
He explained that a second strike later in the day hit an enclave in Danfako, destroying logistics hubs, structures and operational equipment.
“Several terrorists were neutralised during the strikes, further degrading their networks and denying them safe havens,” Ejodame added.
On the Chibok axis, he said NAF aircraft conducted four major strikes in support of 28 Task Force Brigade, Sector 4, OPERATION HADIN KAI, as troops repelled coordinated ISWAP/Boko Haram attacks.
“Our aircraft engaged regrouping insurgents along their escape routes, inflicting significant losses and disrupting their withdrawal,” he said.
Ejodame said the integrated air-ground response ensured the protection of Chibok community and prevented a resurgence of terrorist activities.
“These operations underscore the Nigerian Air Force’s commitment to precise, intelligence-driven engagements aimed at restoring peace and safeguarding Nigerians,” he stated.
