The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) says it has destroyed a terrorist hideout in Katsina State during an airstrike conducted under Operation FANSAN YAMMA Sector 2.
The strike, which took place on May 1, 2026, targeted an enclave in the Dan-Aji Forest located in Faskari Local Government Area.
In a statement signed by Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information, the NAF said the operation followed credible intelligence indicating renewed terrorist activities in the area.
According to the statement, the location served as a logistics hub and transit point for fighters linked to a kingpin identified as Abasu Aiki.
The NAF said the group had been associated with attacks on communities and security personnel across Faskari, Kankara and Funtua areas.
“Air assets identified armed terrorists on motorcycles and other fighters within the enclave and engaged the targets with precision strikes,” the statement said.
It added that Battle Damage Assessment confirmed the destruction of the logistics hub and related structures, as well as the neutralisation of several fighters.
The Air Force noted that the operation disrupted terrorist movement and supply chains within the area.
The NAF reiterated its commitment to ongoing operations aimed at addressing security challenges in the North-West.
