Nigerian media personality, Toke Makinwa is celebrating Christmas a little differently this year — it’s her first Christmas as a mum, and she’s soaking in every moment.
The proud new mother shared a heartwarming video of her giant Christmas décor on Instagram, noting that this festive season is especially meaningful because baby Yakira will be experiencing it for the very first time.
In her words, she said:
“Santa, please stop here for Yakira… Christmas 2025… A very personal one for me. It’s my first Christmas as a mom, my daughter’s first Christmas. New family tradition unlocked.”
Toke revealed that she personally decorated her home this year, aiming to recreate the family traditions she grew up with. She added that she looks forward to the day Yaya starts running around so they can decorate together.
She also shared that she ordered personalised ornaments from the time her daughter was born, and they turned out even prettier than she imagined.
According to Toke, baby Yakira is fascinated by the Christmas lights and often gets “lost” staring at the decorations.
“‘Tis the season, guys… prepare to be sick of me,” she joked.
Just last month, Toke celebrated Yaya at three months old, sharing adorable photos and reflecting on the deep love motherhood has brought her, a love she never knew she could feel.
Toke welcomed Yakira Eliana in August at age 40 and dedicated her to God on last month in a ceremony attended by top celebrities.
