Isaac Fayose has openly criticised his elder brother, former Ekiti State governor Ayo Fayose, over his position in the ongoing internal disputes within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
During an appearance on News Central TV, Isaac alleged that his brother’s support for Nyesom Wike is motivated by personal gain rather than a genuine commitment to strengthening the party. He argued that although Ayo Fayose has considerable political experience, having served two terms as governor and remained active in Nigeria’s political landscape for years, his current actions suggest a focus on self-interest rather than collective party goals.
Isaac further highlighted recent political developments involving their family, pointing out that Ayo Fayose’s son is presently pursuing a political ambition under a different party platform. According to him, this situation illustrates a broader issue of conflicting allegiances among influential political figures, which could undermine party cohesion.
He also accused both Ayo Fayose and Nyesom Wike of playing roles in weakening the PDP by associating with external political interests. In his view, such alignments could harm the party’s electoral prospects and create uncertainty among its supporters, especially at a time when unity is crucial.
Expressing his concerns, Isaac stated, “My brother is ready to carry Wike’s bag as long as money is involved. My brother’s son is contesting under the APC as we speak. Wike’s son is planning to contest under another party.”
He suggested that these developments reflect deeper divisions within the PDP and warned that continued internal discord could further erode public confidence in the party.
