As Nigeria marks its 65th Independence anniversary, the Minister of State for Defence, Dr Bello Matawalle, has described the milestone as a celebration of unity, resilience and collective progress.
In a statement issued by his media aide, Ahmad Dan-Wudil, on Wednesday, Matawalle praised the enduring spirit of Nigerians, saying the nation continues to grow stronger and more united despite its challenges.
“Happy 65th Independence Day, Nigeria! As we celebrate our unity, progress and resilience, let us continue to work together for a greater, prosperous Nigeria,” he said.
The minister stressed the need for national cohesion and patriotism, urging citizens to remain committed to building a country founded on justice, peace and shared prosperity.
He also paid tribute to the sacrifices of the nation’s founding fathers, members of the Armed Forces and millions of Nigerians who continue to contribute to national development, saying the country’s strength lies in its diversity and collective will.
Matawalle reaffirmed the Tinubu administration’s commitment to safeguarding the nation, strengthening democratic values and creating a secure environment where every citizen can thrive.
“As we look to the future, let us renew our resolve to work hand in hand, defend our unity and build a Nigeria future generations will be proud of,” he added.
He wished Nigerians a peaceful and joyous Independence Day celebration.
