The Nigerian military has recorded another operational success in the North East, as troops of Operation HADIN KAI neutralised terrorists and rescued abducted civilians in Borno State.
In a statement issued by the Media Information Officer, Headquarters Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI, Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, the Army said the operation occurred in Konduga Local Government Area in the early hours of January 4, 2026.
Lt. Col. Uba explained that troops, working with the Civilian Joint Task Force, engaged terrorists at a known crossing point along the Sojiri axis, leading to the neutralisation of five terrorists without any casualty to own troops.
He added that three civilians abducted by the terrorists were rescued during the operation, while weapons including AK-47 rifles and other materials were recovered.
The Army spokesperson said the success highlighted Operation HADIN KAI’s sustained commitment to aggressive offensive actions against terrorist elements, while prioritising civilian protection.
He assured that troops’ morale remains high and that security forces continue to dominate the operational environment across the North East as efforts intensify to restore peace and stability.
