A Nigerian woman has caused a stir online after declaring that all men automatically owe women money, linking her stance to years of systemic oppression against women.
In a viral clip, she compared men’s financial responsibility to women with the fight for reparations by Black Americans in the United States.
Controversial statement goes viral
She argued that men have historically deprived women of power, economic opportunities, healthcare, and financial independence, hence men must compensate women. “If I meet any man right now, you owe me money,” she insisted, rejecting the idea of splitting bills equally in relationships.
The lady also defended sex work and called for its inclusion in feminism, questioning why some feminists exclude sex workers and trans people. She maintained that there is nothing shameful about sex work and that women demanding money from men should not be demonised.
Rejecting 50-50 dating ideology
According to her, the concept of “50-50” in relationships is not rooted in true feminism but was created by men in response to women demanding equality. She argued that insisting on shared bills was a way for men to dodge responsibility while maintaining control over women.
She added that any man who refuses to provide financially has no place in her life, stressing that men must understand they are indebted to women because of historical and structural disadvantages placed on the female gender.
Her comments immediately ignited heated debates across social media, with critics branding her views extreme while others defended her right to self-expression.
