Nollywood actress and filmmaker, Mary Remmy Njoku, has reacted to Regina Daniels shocking revelation that she got married to billionaire politician, Senator Ned Nwoko at just 17.
The 24 years-old actress who recently admitted to using drugs, claimed it was something her husband encouraged, reminding critics that she was only 17 when she tied the knot with him.
Reacting to this, Mary Njoku took to Instagram to share her thoughts, stressing that Regina was still a child at the time.
According to Mary, at 17, she herself was still learning about personal hygiene, while many teenage boys were still struggling with basic maturity.
In her words, she said:
“She was 17. Teen. At 17, I was still figuring out personal hygiene. Some 17-year-old boys are still learning to wipe their asses. But now, we expect perfection from her because she is on camera?”
The Iroko TV boss further called out the culture of online judgment and hypocrisy, urging netizens to stop digging up people’s painful pasts just to justify their own hurt.
She advised that people should learn to help others when they cry out for help, not after it’s too late.
Mary’s post has since sparked reactions online, with many applauding her for speaking up for Regina and highlighting the pressure placed on young stars in the entertainment industry.
