Man, 37, Docked For Recording Lady’s Nude Video For N.5m Ransom In Hotel

A 37-year old man, Tochukwu Nkem, has been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly recording a lady’s nude video in a hotel after sex and collecting N.5m for ransom.

 

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Galaxy Hotel, in Megida Ayobo area of Lagos.

 

The matter was reported to the Police at Ayobo Division. The suspect was arrested and detained at the station for interrogation over his alleged conduct against the victim.

 

According to the Police, the suspect lured the victim to the hotel for sex, recorded her nude video and used it to blackmail her while he demanded the money as ransom.

 

However, after the victim paid the money and asked him to delete the video, he refused. When the victim attempted to delete the video from his phone, he assaulted her in the process.

 

After thorough interrogation, the Police found him culpable and charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment.

 

The charges read:

COUNT 1: “That you, TOCHUKWU NKEM ‘M’ on the 2/12/2025, at about 0820hrs at Galaxy Hotel, in Megida Ayobo Lagos, In the Ikeja Magisterial District, did intentionally send a nude video message through phone number 070766834771 to one NGOZICHUKWU UGOOMA EZE ‘F’ AGE 27 to bully. threaten, harass and to dent her reputation in the public which made you to extort her the sum of Five Hundred and Twenty Thousand Naira #520,000.00 and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 24 (1) (2) (a) (c) and punishable under Section 24 (ii) of the cybercrime Act 2015 as Amended 2024.

 

COUNT II: “That you, TOCHUKWU NKEM ‘M’ on the same date, time and place inhe Aforementioned Magisterial District, did unlawfully assault one NGOZICHUKWU UGOOMA EZE ‘F’ by slapping her, pushing her, and rough handling her while she made effort to delete her nude video from your phone and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 170 and punishable under Section 172 of the criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”

 

However, he pleaded not guilty.

 

The prosecutor, Inspector Lucky Ihiehie, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.

 

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. M.O. Tanimola, granted him bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.

 

The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
