Man, 27, Arraigned For Allegedly Stealing Assorted Solar Fans Worth N6. 8m

A 27-year old man, Miracle Iwuchukwu, has been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly stealing assorted solar fans worth N6.8m belonging to Corwin Liu. 

 

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at First Flour MCC Opposite, St. Patrick, Ojo area of the State.

 

According to the Police, the suspect went to the place where the complainant packed the items, stole and sold them to an undisclosed person.

 

However, the complainant later discovered and reported the matter to the Police at Ojo Division. The suspect was promptly arrested and detained at the station for interrogation.

 

The Police found him culpable after rounds of interrogation and charged him before the Ojo Magistrate Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment.

 

The charge read:

“That you, Miracle Iwuchukwu ‘M  on the 16th day of May, 2025, at about 1420hrs at First Flour MCC Opposite, St. Patrick Ojo, in the Ojo in the Magisterial District, did steal solar fans valued N6,813,000.00, property of one Corwin Liu ‘M’ and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 287 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”

 

However, he pleaded not guilty.

 

The prosecutor, Inspector Esther Adesulu, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.

 

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O.M. Ogun, granted him bail in the sum of N1m with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.

 

The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
