There has been a wave of online reactions after Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan of Kogi Central invited the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, to commission constituency projects in her state.
A quick tour across social media platforms revealed divided opinions.
While some Nigerians advised Akpabio not to attend, others praised Senator Natasha for what they described as a “smart and reconciliatory move” that could end their political rift.
Signs of Reconciliation
Reports indicate that the strained relationship between Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan and Senate President Akpabio may have eased following her invitation to him and other senators for the upcoming event.

The development became public on Thursday when Akpabio read the senator’s letter during plenary.
In the letter, personally signed by the Kogi lawmaker, she invited her colleagues to Ihima, Kogi State, on Sunday for the commissioning of her constituency projects, marking her second anniversary in the Senate.
She wrote in part: “In marking my second year anniversary as serving Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, I wish to invite fellow Distinguished Senators to join me for projects commissioning in Kogi State.”
The event’s meeting point, according to her, will be her residence at Plot 101, Jimoh Akpoti Street, Ihima, Okene, Kogi State. She also mentioned that guests flying into the state can land at the Obajana Airstrip before proceeding to Ihima by road.
After reading the letter, a visibly pleased Akpabio congratulated her, saying: “Congratulations in advance.”
