Lecturer shares touching photos of mother and best friend of 65 years

A Nigerian lecturer, Hadiza Kere, has warmed hearts online after sharing photos of her mother, Hajiya Amina Kere Ahmed (née Shuaibu), and her mother’s best friend of over 65 years, Hajiya Zainab Muktar Bello (née Bahago).

Hadiza, who posted the pictures on October 1, coinciding with Nigeria’s 65th Independence Day, revealed that the two women met as teenagers while attending Queen Elizabeth School in Ilorin, Kwara State, and have remained inseparable ever since.

In her caption, Hadiza expressed admiration for their enduring friendship, noting that even the younger generation regards themselves as extended family.

“My mum & her bestie have over 65 years & counting, alhamdulillah. We the children consider ourselves cousins lol. They met at Queen Elizabeth School in Ilorin… Ya Allah be pleased with our parents,” she wrote in a post on X.

... has since drawn praise and admiration across social media, with many describing the women’s relationship as a beautiful example of loyalty, love, and true friendship that has stood the test of time.
