“Leave the US now or risk arrest” – Shehu Sani warns Nigerians amid visa revocations

Former lawmaker, Senator Shehu Sani, has issued a stern warning to Nigerians whose visas were recently revoked by the administration of United States President Donald Trump.

Shehu Sani urges affected Nigerians to return home

Speaking via a post on X (formerly Twitter), Sani urged affected Nigerians and other Africans to leave the country immediately before they face apprehension by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

Reminder: Life Abroad Is Not Permanent

Sani reminded migrants that no matter how comfortable life abroad may seem, they are still guests in a foreign country.

Nigerians and other thousands of Africans whose visas were recently revoked by President Trump should hasten and leave the country and return home before they get arrested by ICE…No matter how long you live in the comfort of your adopted home, you will someday be reminded that it’s not your father’s house,” he said.

US immigration moves trigger anxiety among Africans

The warning comes amid reports that the Trump administration has begun enforcing stricter immigration policies, including mass visa revocations and reviews of residency permits.

These measures have caused widespread concern among immigrants from several African nations, many of whom are now uncertain about their legal status in the United States.
