The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has unveiled its campaign council ahead of the 2027 governorship election, with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, former governors Babatunde Fashola and Akinwunmi Ambode, and other senior party figures taking key positions.
The structure was released on Thursday by the Kadri Obafemi Hamzat Media Centre, which serves as the media platform for the APC governorship candidate in Lagos.
According to the list, Prince Tajudeen Oluyole Olusi will head the Governance Advisory Council, while Sanwo-Olu will serve as Chairman of the Advisory Council.
Fashola and Ambode were named Co-Chairmen of the advisory structure.
Other members include the Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu, Femi Gbajabiamila; Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa; and former Minister of Health, Senator Adeleke Mamora.
Sanwo-Olu heads campaign council
At the main campaign council level, Sanwo-Olu will serve as Chairman, with Hamzat listed as Deputy Chairman.
The structure also names Cornelius Ojelabi, Obasa and Damilola Sonayon-James as Vice Chairmen I, II and III respectively.
Former Senator Musiliu Obanikoro has been appointed Director-General of the campaign council, while Rasaq Ajalawill serve as Deputy Director-General.
Adekunle Olayinka was named Campaign Secretary.
The council also includes several directorates and sub-committees responsible for different aspects of the campaign, including legal and compliance, party and inter-party affairs, administration and logistics, traditional institutions, diaspora engagement and residents’ associations.
The legal and compliance directorate will be headed by Lawal Pedro, SAN, while other senior lawyers listed in the structure include Niji Kazeem, SAN, Kemi Pinheiro, SAN, Supo Shashore, SAN, and Professor Yemi Oke.
The Party and Inter-Party Affairs Directorate will be led by Moshood Mayegun, while Olayinka will oversee Secretariat Administration and Logistics.
Other appointments cover engagement with traditional institutions, Nigerians in the diaspora, residents’ associations, community development associations and estates.
The campaign structure also provides for coordinators and co-coordinators across the state’s local government areas and local council development areas.
Council to be inaugurated Friday
The APC said the campaign council will be formally inaugurated on Friday, September 18, 2026, at the party’s secretariat on ACME Road, Ikeja, Lagos.
Hamzat, the incumbent Lagos Deputy Governor, is the APC’s governorship candidate for the 2027 election, while Damilola Sonayon-James is the party’s deputy governorship candidate.

The unveiling of the campaign structure marks another step in the APC’s preparations for the Lagos governorship contest, with the party putting in place its advisory, administrative and campaign machinery ahead of the election.
