A Nigerian lady living in the United Kingdom (UK) has revealed that her neighbour reported her to the authorities because of her participation in the online viral Hallelujah Challenge.
The incident has sparked wave of reactions online after she shared the letter she received from the council.
Participation in Hallelujah Challenge Leads to Complaint
The young woman, identified on TikTok as @ms.nuella5, participates in the Hallelujah Challenge, an online prayer and praise session led by Nigerian gospel artist Nathaniel Bassey, usually held around midnight.
She explained that her singing during the Challenge prompted her neighbour to contact the council, despite there being no complaints about her during previous late-night gatherings.
Council Sends Formal Notice
In her video, the woman displayed the letter sent to her by the council, signed by a Pollution Control officer.
The letter formally acknowledged the complaint lodged by her neighbour regarding her singing.
Explaining Her Side
The TikTok user clarified that her home is a semi-detached house, which makes it difficult for sounds to reach neighbours.
She emphasized that her singing was not loud and that she does not dance during the sessions, often remaining in bed while participating.
The video was captioned: “POV: Your neighbour reported you to the council because of the Hallelujah Challenge.”
