A Nigerian lady has stirred emotions online after recounting her challenging academic journey that saw her leave the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) at 400 level before starting afresh at Lead City University.
Her story, shared on the X (formerly Twitter), has since drawn massive reactions from netizens who congratulated her on finally earning her degree.
The Decision to Drop Out
Identified on X as @ayomie, the young lady revealed that she had become exhausted and overwhelmed with her studies at FUTA.
Despite her struggles, she found it difficult to take the bold step of leaving until she came across a life-changing tweet in 2017.
The viral post, originally made by politician and entrepreneur Oloye Akin Alabi, read:
“You are 30 so don’t want to go for a 5-year course because when you finish you will be 35. Whether you go back or not, you will be 35 in 5 years.”
According to her, those words gave her the courage to quit FUTA in her second semester of 400 level and begin afresh at Lead City University.
From Setback to Triumph
Years after that tough decision, @ayomie graduated from Lead City University and also received her NYSC call-up letter, marking the completion of her academic journey.
Sharing her joy, she wrote:
“I was exhausted, tired of everything. Then one Thursday, I saw this tweet on WhatsApp. Something in me shifted. That same day, I made the hardest choice. I left FUTA in 400L, second semester, to start all over again at Lead City. Today, I’m a graduate. Serving my country with joy.”
Her story quickly went viral, with Nigerians flooding the comments to praise her resilience and determination.
