A social media user shared a scary yet unexpected encounter after climbing a pedestrian bridge along Agege Road in Lagos.
In a post on X, the lady described how fear quickly turned to relief after the men she panicked over reassured her, though she still handed them cash to be safe.
She wrote, “Climbed the pedestrian bridge along Agege Road, saw some rough guys and my heart dropped.😭
“I wanted to turn back immediately.😭 They were so nice and told me not to be afraid. I sha gave them the cash with me make dem no collect my phone.”

Her experience has generated mixed reactions online, with netizens sharing their opinions.

Kanebi added, “That was a very wise thing you did there…when confronted by those kinds of people, just obey and be nice. It could get ugly if u claim to be tough.”

Abiodun shared, “Not all of them are crazy as people thinks. Even thou you didn’t give them the money they wouldn’t have done anything to you.
“Now trust me when ever you pass that route again and they see you? They will hail you till you board any transportation you want to.”
Saheed said, “That’s true pedestrian bridges in Lagos are very scary cuz some tugs have turned it to a home @followlasg needs to do something about it.”
GodAbeg added, “Honestly they’re much on that bridge,, i rather cross Road than to follow bridge.”
