A young lady has shared her reason for deliberately being mean to men who try to get close to her.
In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), she revealed that her attitude changed after an encounter with a man at the gym. According to her, being nice to men often leads to misunderstanding.
Why She Acts Mean
She wrote: “I’m always a little mean to men because if you’re too nice they’ll think you want to sleep with them. Because how is this guy at my gym inviting me over to his house? All I did was buy you Pocari sweat, bro. Are you not loved at home?”
Her post quickly went viral, attracting thousands of reactions from social media users who shared their opinions and experiences.

Another user, Isdinlee_bobo, wrote: “It’s not really about the gift itself, it’s the thoughtfulness behind it. It shows care, effort, and genuine interest — things men don’t experience often.”
Elizabeth added humour: “That was how I bought gala for one and he started calling me and asking me out. Like it’s just gala bro, why’re you so cheap?”
Meanwhile, Sabi_HR offered a different view: “Men are not wired to receive from women. It usually comes off strange rather than just being kind. Were you just being nice?”
Another user, Pirrip, said: “Men don’t buy things for women they don’t like. Let alone a woman buying for a man. You like him, you’re just scared he’ll use you.”
... continues to spark debate about kindness, gender expectations, and how men and women interpret friendly gestures.
