A Nigerian lady has gone viral after sharing her experience of renovating her rented apartment in Lagos, prompting widespread discussion on social media.
Fixing the House
The tenant, identified on TikTok as @zika_ing, noticed that the walls of her newly rented apartment were uneven and had holes that could harbor insects.
Determined to make the home more livable, she purchased building materials, including a bag of cement, POP paint, and a 2kg top bond.
She also employed a labourer to screed the walls, ensuring they became smoother and more presentable.
To achieve the best results, she supervised the renovation herself, occasionally purchasing additional materials such as a half bag of cement and another bucket of POP paint.
After the renovation, she expressed satisfaction with the outcome, noting that the walls were now smooth and ready for painting.
Netizens Reactions
Her video quickly gained attention on TikTok, with many users questioning why she invested her time and money into a property that does not belong to her.
Some praised her initiative and attention to detail, while others debated the practicality of renovating a rented space.
Despite the criticism, the lady insisted that she had no regrets about improving the apartment, emphasizing that the screeding made painting easier and improved the overall living environment.
