A young lady has expressed deep concern over the rising cost of men’s clothes in the market, questioning why men appear unconcerned about the situation.
In a viral video shared on social media, she narrated her shocking experience while trying to buy clothes for her partner. According to her, the price of men’s wear has become too outrageous, yet men seem to have accepted it without protest.
She said: “To be very honest, e get something wey I don noticed and it’s very very critical. Men, una clothe is very expensive ooh. It’s too much. And you people are not saying anything, it seems some of you are very comfortable about it.”
Although she did not state clearly what men should do about it, she insisted that they cannot continue to ignore the matter. She warned that if men remain quiet, the problem will persist.
She continued: “Very soon una go make am be like say na woman be una problem, you people are your own problem. Why is your clothe too expensive like that?”
The lady further explained that she was troubled because some shirts now sell for as high as ₦200,000 or even ₦300,000, a price she found unreasonable.
She also argued that the high cost of men’s clothes could be the reason many women prefer to buy only singlets and boxers for their male partners during birthdays and other celebrations, since those are the items they can easily afford.
Her video has stirred mixed reactions online, as many Nigerians agree with her complaint while others believe men have adapted to the reality of the market.
