A young lady broke down in tears after her newly rented apartment became flooded after painting, turning her excitement into heartbreak.
In a viral TikTok video by @defidna, she explained how her cousin had offered to help paint her new place. She was full of excitement about finally having a space to call her own.
Before his arrival, she began cleaning in preparation, and once he got there, they started painting together. Everything seemed perfect until heavy rain began to fall.
Sadly, within minutes, her entire apartment was flooded. The once-excited renter, unable to hold back her tears, said it felt like watching all her joy wash away before her eyes.
“I cried my eyes out today. We had just finished painting when it started raining. Before I knew it, my whole house was flooded. Going out of the compound felt like stepping into an ocean,” she said.
Her video quickly drew massive reactions online. While many sympathized with her, others advised her to contact her landlord for a refund or seek repairs.
Some shared similar experiences, lamenting how poor drainage systems and substandard housing make flooding a recurring nightmare during the rainy season.
What was supposed to be a joyful new beginning sadly ended in tears for the young lady.
