Lady advises women to drink ogogoro because life is hard

A viral video of a young Nigerian lady advising women to embrace local gin, popularly called ogogoro, instead of limiting themselves to “soft” drinks like milkshakes, has triggered a heated conversation online.

In the clip, the woman is seen holding a bottle of Origin bitters, telling her peers that life is tough and sometimes women need to drink stronger alcohol.

She emphasised that whether a lady is beautiful or not, she should not shy away from buying and drinking ogogoro, adding, “Life is hard. Life is hard.”

The video, originally shared on social media platform X, quickly spread across timelines with many users questioning her choice of words. While some found her message humorous, others described it as reckless, suggesting that encouraging women to drink hard liquor was hardly advisable.

The tone of the video also raised eyebrows, with some users speculating about her state of mind and personal struggles, as she appeared to connect alcohol consumption with handling the difficulties of life.
