The Kwara State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to delivering an effective 2026 budget that mirrors the mission, vision, and campaign promises of Governor Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON.
This assurance was given by the Commissioner for Planning and Economic Development and Chairman of the Central Budget Committee, Dr. (Mrs.) Mary Ronke Arinde, during the opening of the Ministerial Budget Proposal sessions at the Ministry of Finance Conference Hall in Ilorin.
Dr. Arinde emphasized the administration’s determination to address all concerns raised during the 2026 Citizens’ Engagement on participatory budgeting, which covered the three senatorial districts of the state. She urged all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) to make detailed and inclusive presentations aimed at promoting balanced development across Kwara State.
Representing the Ministry of Communications, Commissioner Hon. Bolanle Olukoju praised Governor AbdulRazaq’s administration for initiating developmental projects that have notably enhanced economic activities in the state. She reiterated her commitment to ensuring continued progress and prosperity for Kwara State.
The session was attended by members of the Central Budget Committee, representatives of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), commissioners, permanent secretaries, and directors from various MDAs, highlighting a collaborative approach to the state’s budget planning process.
Dr. Arinde concluded by stressing that the 2026 budget would reflect the collective input of citizens and stakeholders while maintaining transparency and accountability, reinforcing the administration’s pledge to inclusive governance.
