Kwara Police Deny Reports of Female Officer Kidnapping and Murder

The Kwara State Police Command has dismissed circulating reports claiming that a female police officer in the state was kidnapped and murdered, describing the claims as “entirely false and deeply distressing to members of the public.”

The statement, issued on Saturday by the command’s spokesperson, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, emphasized that the reports were not only false but also misleading, with the potential to incite panic across the state.“There is no Ogidi Police Division in Kwara State. The spread of such misinformation is harmful to reputations and distressing to both individuals and the people of Kwara State,” Ejire-Adeyemi said.

The police command urged the public to disregard the unverified information, assuring that no female officer is missing or abducted in any division within the state.

The statement further highlighted that the Kwara Police, under the leadership of CP Adekimi Ojo, is fully cooperating with other security agencies to protect lives, prevent crimes, and maintain peace.

Members of the public and media outlets were advised to avoid sharing sensationalized or unverified reports that could cause unnecessary panic or harm the reputation of the state.

The police assured that the command remains committed to transparency and will provide updates as necessary.
