The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State says it is united and fully prepared to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections.

State Chairman, Babatunde Mohammed stated this in an interview with Arewa PUNCH after the party concluded ward congresses across all 193 wards in the state. He described the peaceful and orderly conduct of the exercise as a sign of renewed strength within the opposition.

“As far as Kwara PDP is concerned, we are one big family, well prepared for the task ahead. With the support of the people, we are firmly on the ground and ready to challenge the APC as the main opposition party in 2027,” Mohammed said.

The congresses, which adopted a consensus method, were monitored across the state and reported to be peaceful, transparent, and inclusive. Mohammed said the approach fostered unity, ensured stakeholders were carried along, and respected existing zoning arrangements.

He further credited the smooth outcome to what he called a renewed sense of stability in the party under the leadership of former Senate President Bukola Saraki, adding that the exercise demonstrated the PDP’s grassroots strength and readiness for the next election cycle.
