The Kwara State Elders’ Caucus of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has expressed condolences to families affected by recent violent attacks across the state.
In a statement, the Forum particularly mourned the loss of 12 vigilantes in Oke-Ode, Ifelodun Local Government Area, following a bandit attack. The group also extended sympathies to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and the communities in Kwara North and South Senatorial Districts impacted by the violence.
Signed by Chairman Barr. Kunle Sulyman and Secretary Hon. AbdulMumini Katibi, the statement commended the measures taken by the state government to enhance security. These initiatives include the recruitment of approximately 2,700 Forest Guards, support and enrollment of vigilantes in the State Health Insurance Scheme, and engagement with relevant stakeholders. The Forum also acknowledged the state’s collaboration with the office of the National Security Adviser (NSA) to curb criminal activities.
The APC Elders’ Caucus reiterated its solidarity with the victims and emphasized the importance of continued government intervention to protect lives and restore peace in affected communities.
