Kogi Central Set for Season of Festivities After Ekuechi Celebration

Barely days after the annual traditional Ekuechi festival, Kogi Central Senatorial District of Kogi State is again witnessing a build-up of social and cultural activities that will dominate the entire year-end season.

‎The development, coming within a two-week interval, is expected to usher in celebrations spanning Christmas, Boxing Day and the New Year.

‎Residents, indigenes and visitors from far and near are expected to converge on various venues across the zone for different events lined up for the season.

‎One of the most prominent of the celebrations is the Annual Old School Picnic organised by the Ebira Gentlemen Club, which traditionally attracts top personalities from within and outside the country.

‎Other notable events include the yearly Ebira Carnival and the Unique De Friends Club end-of-year gathering, both of which draw families, friends and tourists for cultural displays and entertainment.

‎To formally usher in 2026, the Annual Family Funfair and Friends Connect Day will take place on January 1, bringing together children, parents and well-wishers.

‎All the listed events, along with several others, are scheduled to hold at the eco-friendly Trans Atlantic Centre, Okene.
