A faction within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi State, known as the Kogi APC Renaissance Forum, has called for bolder and more drastic measures in President Bola Tinubu’s ongoing battle against corruption, emphasising that the fight demands a paradigm shift to tackle its deep-rooted nature effectively.
In a statement issued on Thursday and signed by the forum’s spokesperson, Emmanuel Adejo, the group praised the president’s commitment to combating graft but insisted that the current efforts require escalation.

“The fight against corruption embarked upon by the present administration requires more action,” Adejo declared, appealing to Nigerians to rally behind Tinubu’s renewed crusade.
The forum highlighted that the administration’s recent actions demonstrate impartiality, noting that prosecutions are not limited to opposition figures but also extend to APC members.
It cited the ongoing case against former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello, who faces charges from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) involving alleged misappropriation of state funds amounting to billions of naira.
Adejo stressed that President Tinubu has shown an “unwavering commitment” by clearly separating partisan politics from governance.
“Corruption must be recompensed through appropriate punishment, and diligent prosecution is the key,” he said, warning those engaged in corrupt practices to desist or face imprisonment.
The group described corruption in Nigeria as largely driven by politically exposed persons, necessitating a “much more drastic and robust approach.”

It argued that the multifaceted and entrenched character of the issue calls for bolder actions beyond the status quo.
The Kogi APC Renaissance Forum, which has previously voiced internal party concerns, reaffirmed its full support for Tinubu’s anti-corruption agenda.
