Kebbi Police Arrest Five Suspected Bandits

Personnel of the No. 36 PMF Squadron in Birnin Kebbi have arrested five suspected bandits and recovered firearms, ammunition, and cash during an operation along Zuru-Tadurga Road in Kebbi State.

According to a statement by CSP Nafi’u Abubakar Kotarkoshi, Police Public Relations Officer for Kebbi State Command, the operation took place on Sunday, 16 November, at around 1:00 a.m., following a tip-off.

The suspects—Bako Aliyu (Nanarki village), Sani Alaramma (Wawan Icce village), Umaru Tafsi (Birnin Tudu village), Mamman Sani Danzakara (Mallamawa village), and Lawali Sani (Birnin Tudu village)—all from Bukkuyum and Gummi Local Government Areas of Zamfara State, are alleged to have been involved in recent attacks in the area.

Police recovered seven fabricated AK-47 rifles, one locally made pistol, three Dane guns, 43 rounds of 7.62×39mm live ammunition, 46 cartridges, three AK-47 magazines, two empty shells, and N2,623,900 in cash.

The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Birnin Kebbi for further investigation and to identify additional members of the syndicate.

Kebbi State Commissioner of Police, CP Bello M. Sani, commended the squadron for its professionalism and urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to security authorities.
